Avril Lavigne got her first record deal November 2000 when she was just 17 years old. Now, she’s got a bustling career and in the middle of recording her fifth studio album. Like Avril, Justin Bieber started his career as a teenager and is on his way to being one of the most successful entertainers of all time. Avril shared her industry advice with HollywoodLife.com exclusively on how Justin can make his career last.
“I think he’s doing the right thing,” she told HollywoodLife.com at the Picksie 2.0 App Launch at NYC’s Lucky Strike Lanes on Nov. 22. “He seems to be working really hard and making new material. Just take care of his voice.”
Avril also revealed her tips for beating heartbreak. “Time heals everything for whatever type of heartbreak it is,” she said. “Whether you lose somebody or it’s regarding a relationship, time heals everything.”
Like Justin, Avril is Canadian, so she celebrated Thanksgiving a month ago. But on Nov. 24, she will be “performing in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” she gushed. “I am [excited]. I am doing the new single ‘Wish You Were Here.’”
